NYE Trip Diary: San Fransisco

I had the most wonderful New Years in San Fransisco! Every time I go, I fall in love with the city more and more. This time I ventured out a bit and tried staying in a different area, trying new restaurants, and just really tried to live like a local!

Stay
This time I stayed at the Kimpton Buchanan Hotel. Kimpton is one of my favourite boutique hotel chains, they never disappoint! Tip: Every Kimpton hotel has a hosted cocktail hour.
I loved that there were so many restaurants to choose from right outside the hotel, and it’s in the lower Pacific Heights area where there are a lot of cute stores and plenty of shopping to do!

The Buchanan hotel had the type of decor that I fell head over heels for too! I definitely recommend staying with them if you ever decide to do a girls trip like I did this past NYE!

Eat
My favourite meal all of this trip was the New Years Day brunch I had at Villon in the Proper Hotel. Villon is a new restaurant in the newly opened San Fransisco Proper Hotel. Besides the food, the aesthetic of the hotel and the restaurant was stunning! I was so impressed with the decor everywhere I looked – I’ll have to try and stay there one of the next times I visit the city.

Everything on their brunch menu looked amazing, so it’s hard to recommend anything in particular. They have a very extensive selection on both their food and drink menu. You’ll be sure to see something you want to try!

Relax
The pinnacle of this trip for me (besides counting down for New Years) has got to be my Enzyme Facial at International Orange Spa. I can’t believe that I hadn’t been to International Orange till this trip! They have two locations, one in San Fransisco in Pacific Heights, which was super convenient for me for where I stayed this trip. The spa was gorgeous and so relaxing, I absolutely recommend a facial here if you’re ever in the Bay area. The Enzyme facial that I had was a fruit cocktail of pineapple, papaya and pumpkin enzymes custom mixed for the specific needs of my skin. It smelled amazing and gave me an instant smoother and brighter complexion!

Their second location is located in Marin and I will definitely have to plan a day there too! Doesn’t it look amazing?

How did you all spend your New Years Eve? Maybe consider spending it in San Fransisco next time if you’ve never been. There’s so much to see and do!
