Los Angeles Travel Diary II: Girls Trip

I recently went on a Los Angeles trip with my blogger babes Mitra and Boyu. I’ve visited LA a number of times, but it’s a different experience with different people… and the 3 of us had a blast! We tried lots of different foods, found cute spots for photoshoots, and I want to recap it all for you!

Stay
We stayed at the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills in the Hollywood Hill View Suite. The location of this hotel was perfect for us – transportation was easy for a lot of places that we wanted to go (mainly in Beverly Hills/West Hollywood).

The view from our room was spectacular! It oversaw the Hollywood Hills and we were even lucky enough to be able to spot the Hollywood sign from our balcony. The hotel’s pool deck is also great for sunbathing, a great place to enjoy a drink, or even get some work done if you want to get out of your room. I definitely recommend this hotel in terms of location, aesthetic, and the top notch service.

Eat
The 3 of us love to eat, so we tried a number of places. We especially have a sweet tooth so Bumsum Organic Milk Bar and California Donuts were our top 2 picks for desserts.

Of course we couldn’t pass on lunch at the Cabana Cafe in the Beverly Hills Hotel – this is the ultimate girls lunch spot in my opinion because the decor is so pink and girly. We also paid a visit to Perch for drinks and it did not disappoint. The view from their rooftop patio is amazing and I can’t wait to go back already!

Other restaurants we went to: Gracias Madre, EMC Seafood and Raw Bar, The Halal Guys, Alfred Tea Room, Commissary at the Line Hotel, Bottega Louie, and Rose Cafe-Restaurant at Venice beach.

Play
There is so much to do in LA! While we did a lot, there are still many things left on my list for the next time I visit. First on our list was murals and art walls that we wanted to take photos in front of: the Made in LA wall (8025 Melrose Avenue), the Girls Tour wall (7811 Melrose Avenue), and the City of Angel wings (8401 West 3rd Street). I kid you not when I say that we spent an afternoon Ubering around, just so we could see all these walls.

A day at Venice Beach is also something I recommend if you haven’t been. While we were rushed since there was so much we wanted to do, Venice’s boardwalk is great to stroll down, browse the stores for knick knacks, and grab a bite – there are so many options!

Some of the other highlights for me personally this trip were The Broad Museum and Griffith Observatory. The Broad Museum is an amazing place filled with contemporary art. A walk through there really helped me get my creative juices flowing, and best of all, it’s free admission! Griffith Observatory was also one of my favourite places we visited. It’s so beautiful that everywhere you look will be a breathtaking view. Watching the sunset here was truly magical.

Have you gone on a trip with your girlfriends to LA before? What were some of your favourite spots? Let me know if you think we missed some places so I can add it to my list for my next trip. I always love getting recommendations from you all!
