San Francisco Travel Diary

I love San Francisco! It’s only a short flight from Vancouver and it’s usually sunnier, warmer, and less wet than Vancouver. I’ve been a handful of times and thought I’d write about my most recent trip to share with you all.

Stay
Union Square is a great area to stay since most things are walking distance. I prefer Nob Hill even though it requires a bit of walking up and down the hill. The hills can be a bit overwhelming, but get a hotel room with a great view and I promise it’ll be worth it!
I love the Ritz Carlton and can’t recommend it enough. Besides the fact that it’s totally Instagrammable and their amazing service, I love the location because it’s not too far up the hill. You can still walk down to Union Square easily.

Eat
I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t tried the famous cruffins from Mr. Holmes Bakehouse yet. I’ve heard amazing things about it though and its on my list for next time! I urge you all to stop by for a cruffin if you can. Tip: go early because they sell out!

My favourite places to go for brunch are Jane, I recommend their dragon fruit smoothie bowl, and Rose’s cafe for their breakfast pizza.

For dinner, my favourites are Nopa if you want a hip and trendy atmosphere. If you’re craving a steak then my go-to is Alexander’s Steakhouse. My favourite restaurant that I go to almost every time I visit the city is North Beach Restaurant – they have an amazing wine list and I definitely recommend it here if you’re craving classic Italian food.

You haven’t been to San Fransisco if you haven’t had a ride on the cable cars! You’ll get to see many different parts of the city and it’s actually a really fun ride. The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and Fisherman’s Wharf are also a good way to spend your afternoon if you just want to stroll around.

Streets of San Fransisco

One of my most favourite things about San Fransisco are the cute buildings. The painted ladies are my favourite since countless shows and movies that I like used it as a backdrop. If you’re like me and like a cute backdrop, definitely don’t miss out on this photo op while in the city!
