Seattle Travel Diary

I feel kind of awful about this, but I’ve under-appreciated Seattle for far too long… probably because it was always just a short drive across the border from home. My most recent trip has changed my perspective! Seattle is a beautiful city with lots to see and do – I can’t wait to go back 🙂

Stay
We drove straight from Vancouver to downtown Seattle and stayed in that area for a majority of the trip. Most things were walking distance since we were downtown, which was really convenient. I stayed at the Thompson Seattle, a fantastic boutique hotel with a rooftop bar that I’m obsessed with and breathtaking water views.

Eat and Drink
I didn’t stay in the city long enough to try that many restaurants, but the ones I did that stood out to me were Bacco Cafe for brunch, The Nest (the rooftop bar at the Thompson Seattle) for drinks and light bites, and The Pink Door restaurant for dinner.

Although the name and colour of the door was what attracted us to The Pink Door for dinner, it was my favourite meal that trip. It’s a great setting for a romantic date night or special occasion, and their lasagna is delicious!

The Nest at the Thompson Seattle was where I kept going back for happy hour. Part of the reason was because I was staying at the hotel so it was convenient, but the rooftop views of the city and the water were the best part.

Play
Pike Place Market was one of the first places I stopped by my first morning. I’ve been told about beautiful bouquets for ridiculously low prices – the bouquet I’m holding below was only $10! There are so many shops in that area to browse – a really fun time pass. I also walked down to the Ferris Wheel at Pier 57 for a fun photoshoot with Kelly. It was really pretty there so I’ll for sure be back next time!

Remember I’m always looking for recommendations too! I like sharing my experiences with you guys, but please let me know if theres a place in the city you think I should stop by next time!
