Napa Valley Travel Diary

My most recent time in Napa has left me wanting to plan another trip back! So typical of me to love wine country hehe. For those who are thinking of visiting too, I’m here to share my experience with you!

Downtown Napa

Stay
I stayed at the Andaz Napa downtown. I liked that I could walk everywhere since downtown Napa isn’t too big. The next time I go though, I think I’ll stay in Yountville (I’ll touch on this later) since I heard good things about it too. If you do stay in downtown Napa, I definitely recommend staying with the Andaz Napa. It’s central and the decor of the hotel is really nice.

Wineries
There were 2 places with great wine tasting options within walking distance of my hotel – Acumen Wines and Outland Napa. The decor of the space in Acumen Wines was what drew me in. I couldn’t help but notice the rose gold decor and beautiful artwork when I walked passed their store front.

Outland Napa had a very Swedish contemporary vibe to their decor – super minimal which I loved. Also! They have a great selection of rosé.

The best wineries in my opinion were a short drive away. If you ask me, the holy grail of all wineries is Opus One. You guys, this place was beautiful! It was totally world class – I loved the architecture and it felt like I could have been anywhere in the world.

Another winery which I’m sure many are familiar with is Duckhorn Vineyards – definitely worth the visit! Their patio is gorgeous with great views and each and every wine they produce is top notch.

Eat
I was happy with all my meals this trip, but the reason why I’d like to stay in Yountville next time is because there weren’t a large number of dining options for me in Downtoan Napa – not within walking distance from my hotel at least. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of places to eat in Downtown Napa and driving to Yountville actually isn’t that far! The problem was, after many wine tastings, the hungry and impatient side of me came out haha. I know that Yountville has a number of Michelin-starred restaurants and I’d love to try one of them next time.

On our drive from San Fransisco, we stopped by The Fremont Diner, a charming place with the best biscuits! For brunch most days I opted for room service from the Andaz Napa, delicious of course, and another day I had brunch on the patio of the Napa General Store (they make a great mimosa). The best restaurant in my opinion in Downtown Napa is Morimoto. I love sushi and I know Morimoto is one of the best, so I was not disappointed. If you like Japanese Cuisine, do not skip out on this if you’re in the area!

What do you all think of the Napa Valley? It’s definitely somewhere I’d like to visit more often! Since this was jusr my first trip, I don’t have too much to share, but if any of you guys are more familiar with the area I’d love to hear your recommendations!
